Let's find our soul

'The biggest hit of the year','the blockbuster which broke all the trade records','the largest box office collection till date'; these are some very common statements we get to hear these days when a new movie releases. But I wonder are they really worth the money they earn as profits? I don't think so.

Movies these days lack soul. They are just one-time-watch movies, unlike movies like Deewar and DDLJ which we feel good about even after watching them for the hundredth time! The script and the story seem to be written just for the sake of it, as if it has been written just because they wanted to write something! Even the songs are not as impressive nowadays. At times the performances are mediocre.

In the recent past, only a few films like 3 idiots and My name is Khan have been worth watching.Wanted was also an entertaining movie. And only a few actors of gen-next like Shahid kapoor and Ranbir kapoor  and Priyanka Chopra have done some good acting. We lack stories that are soul-stirring and can help us think n feel good.  "The script demanded this particular scene" seems to be the favourite line of directors these days, leaving most of the audience not so comfortable.Just trying to ape western culture in the name of modernization is slowly taking away the essence of  style of movies.

We are really looking forward to some good and Meaningful movies with strong performances that can entertain as well as touch our hearts.
